I am as pro-EU as it gets, and I really would prefer if it worked as a true parliament. Instead of commissioners chosen by national governments and a head commissioner, a premier minister chosen by the parliament, and a commission that woul

This is the reality of this. For larger countries is much easier to deal with Europe when it's a bunch of small countries butting heads with their neighbors.

The EU commission is just a way for national governments to launder their authoritarian desires through the EU. The commissioner for each country is choser by national governments. It's them pushing that shit. The main problem with it,

This is a great example of how people comment very confidently on shit they know nothing about. Iceland complies with EU because it belongs to the EEA. It has nothing to do with "precence of EU across the sea". UK doesn't hav

Iceland is in EEA. EEA is already EU-lite, where they have to comply with plenty of EU regulations, don't get a vote on those regulations, but get some exemptions (such as their fishing thing). Other two countries in EEA are Norway and

And the Chinese labs still make models that are easily as good as the US labs. Rather embarrassing indeed.

It is. It serves both for heating the radiators and for the warm water in the sinks/shower/dishwasher/laundry, but I understand both to be separated systems fed by the same heat pump. The boiler is not huge, but it has enough

Nuclear, wind and solar are all pretty old at this point. Hell, Nuclear is 1940's technology. Are you telling me that the famously industrious Dutch are unable to produce energy without pumping gas out of Groningen?

I have a heat pump system, the hot water works alright. The only minor issue is during winter months, if the daughter and the wife shower one right after the other, it takes some 40 minutes for the boiler to have hot water again.

On the rare occasions I used Word to write things in the past, it would replace dashes with em-dash. I normally use dashes when writing, never bothered myself with writing an em-dash properly otherwise.

I had never heard of this. I always sort of hated social networks. Even the ones I eventually participated in, such as Reddit or HN (although I tend to see those more as forums). I navigated a bit on textlog, and I found it strangely compel

Not surprising in the slightest, Claude sort of sucks. I use it at work and I have to steer it a lot so it doesn't stray looking at unnecessary shit. I have been using GLM-5.3 in my home setup and it is very good in comparison.
