It’s not perfect but ideally it’s not the only data point. Typically you’d want to have corroboration among multiple data points to refine estimates. Sortof like a Kalman filter.

This is just more idealism. Slavery was a heavily economically motivated endeavor, obviously, otherwise it would never have occurred in the first place or wouldn't have taken so long to abolish. The other two examples are just a changi

Agreed more or less (lived in all 3), although South Bay can be a tossup. I've felt slow doing 80 and fast doing 70.

Only if you want to die! The standard highway speed is 15mph over the speed limit here in CA. If you follow the speed limit, you’ll be going too slow to effectively maneuver or see incoming cars and increase chances of a crash. Ergo: break

I've always felt uncomfortable using these, from the residual smell. I wonder how many subtle toxins we can't smell. I hardly fill the auto-release spot these days for that reason, haven't noticed any down side so far.

I believe they were citing apple not allowing them to do so as the cause, but it’s been years now that they’ve been able at this point, and others already have brought integration.

This is such an uncontroversial take, I’m really surprised to see it get so downvoted on HN. I upgraded my phone the day after it froze when I tried to make a call. I never want to be in a situation where I can’t make an emergency call. Tha

Toaster ovens are too low power and don’t have enough convection still, at least for my use case. I roasted chicken just last night, and got a beautiful golden crust with a thoroughly cooked interior… you can’t do that with a typical toaste

Yep, you got it. “Air fryer” is just a marketing term for a stronger convection oven. My “air fryer” has a toaster oven form factor and the splatter containment is awful, so the basket design really helps with that, from what I’ve seen.

I bought one recently. It’s a game changer for me. It’s really just an oven that solves the main problem with ovens: being slow to heat / under powered. It’s really mind boggling that these took so long to hit the market!
