In terms of correlation at least, yes. Between the fall and the USSR and when social media presence became the norm, people were largely apolitical. Now it's all about owning the libs/cons.

No, they extract and sell oil and they happen to do it at a profit. This is not the same as being compensated or billed for things that resulted from the use of that oil.

While the comment you're replying to is wrong, these empirical studies are ridiculous. Every price has some elasticity, but the fact is that if a worker earns an employer $8 an hour in revenue, they're not going to pay that worker
