Raining down hellfire from orbit might be an effective alternative to aircraft carriers. With Musk's rockets it might even be cheaper. I wonder if there's anyone pencilling their way through this scenario at the Pentagon?

Google put $1bn in to the early stage of Musk's satellite ISP plan as I recall. Did they get 50% for that investment? I'm not sure.

The window of economic viability for nuclear energy has very likely closed for good at this point except for niche applications. This is because the costs of solar, wind and HVDC have been dropping so quickly. This technologies have the ki

Yes, it's really in the battery pack, rather than the individual cells, where Tesla has a commanding lead in the technology and the cost.

I'm inclined to believe he has a valid point. You can't redefine legal language just because it allowed a loop hole you hadn't considered. Indeed this very thing is bread and butter to the lawyer community.

It may be that federated electric vehicle batteries become all the storage we need as long as power grids are integrated more broadly.

To a certain extent you're not wrong. There's a critical technology with quickly dropping costs that this future assumes and that's HVDC transmission lines. The larger the geographical span of the area that has all its sola

The Dutch are finding that e-bikes are more of a substitute for a car than they are for a pedal bike. That should play even better in lower income countries. Time will tell.
