All my top priorities are mandatory. All 18 of them. Especially if they are contradictory. That's usually how it goes. No sense feeling angst about it.

Manufacturing output in the United States generally increases over time, but output is generated through gains in productivity from automation (e.g. robots). Therefore, the absolute number of jobs in the manufacturing sector has been steadi

Aw, c'mon! If you worry about getting the elephants to agree, you'll get stuck in committee adding enterprise cruft. You can move forward without them. You can build protocols with your fellow smaller companies that have a pressing need to

I don't get your point, or maybe I do and I disagree. I hate doing my taxes. I hate mopping my floors. I truly hate weeding. These things are the cost of life. Adulthood means doing things because they have to get done, not because they are

On every microprocessor I have seen, increment has a different assembler instruction (e.g. INC) than add (e.g. ADD), so it is reasonable to say they are different.

That seems like an strangely authoritarian stance? The Internet is a free market. There are two billion people on it in 190+ countries and who knows how many non-sovereign entities. It is incredibly diverse and it is designed to let diversi

I do not feel worried that we will miss out on the next revolution because its manifesto can no longer be written in a YouTube comment. As long as free expression is legal and there is a free market, there will be an outlet for free, anonym

In my view, the most important goal for OAuth 2 was mandate SSL/TLS. That means it could remove timestamp and nonce, and only use plaintext signatures. Any implementation can do this and be backwards compatible with OAuth 1.0A clients by si

I think the obvious next step was / is to make OAuth 1.0A into OAuth 1.1 by mandating TLS/SSL and declare the SSL-mimicking parts like the timestamp, nonce optional (i.e. ignored). Anyone can just do it by fiat, since it will be backwards c

My advice, somewhat harsh, but I believe true. If you build an OAuth endpoint, build an OAuth 1.0A endpoint. It's stable, powerful, and effective. There is no effective OAuth 2 "standard" yet.

It's not that straightforward. You are required to have insurance to drive a car by law for a reason. So the question here is whose insurance pays, which depends on the policy terms, not that the car owner is guilty of anything. You can ins

To assuage your fears or maybe exacerbate them: 2, 3 are already copyrightable. (Rightly so.) 4, 5 are not copyrightable because they aren't fixed expressions in a tangible medium. 1 isn't copyrightable because a phone number is a fact.
