As an option - everyone has stated the easy problems of no salary listed and the take-home assessment - if you KNOW your salary is low, offer 4-day workweeks instead. I mean x4 7-8 hours, not 10-hour days. It might help hook some traffic. Y

On changing jobs - Depends. If work isn't getting better *today*: ie, if they refuse to fire that toxic asshole, if they refuse to change that insane deadline -> if you have six months of savings, take a sabbatical for at least 3 of

Specialize to catch the attention of HR/Recruiters/VPs; you are right, no one wants a generalist. However, I find once I get in and do my specialty, I'll then generalize and flex as the project needs me. I am paid to be nice

Part of the reason I went freelance. If I can't get 4 day weeks, then I'll work for 6-8 months then take off just as long. I need breaks and I can't work on W2 ever again because of it.
