Oh - so he's going to tell the truth then? I guarantee he has confidentiality agreements about all of that - so I don't believe anything he says for a second. Loopt was a total bust for VC returns.

Maybe 3 year vesting - although 4 year is more common. But 75% vested of a big company is fine.

Been around a long time, never caught on. Their traffic #s from compete are a joke, even if they were off by a magnitude - still shows they are stale. They should try something different than competing with google.

Complete linkbait piece then, b/c DDG is anything but popular.

No one uses DDG - they must have hired a PR firm to get some BS stories planted. their results are pretty terrible for the few tests I did the last time their PR firm got something on HN.

We do more than that, but only send a few hundred emails per day outside of our internal google apps accounts (using sendgrid) and then blast a newsletter once a week via mailchimp.

Thanks - that's why I use sendgrid & mailchimp. Don't have time to care about these things.

Which big ones use that as their white label?

You don't have to pay to get whitelisted with an ISP. You have to have good IP reputation then apply.

I'm pretty sure they already use this software and that's how they automate finding youtube videos. But then people speed them up, add little watermarks, etc. to make them harder to find.

I was just talking to a friend about timeline and how hard it is to navigate. I can't even go on friends pages that use it - it's just too hard to get used to, especially when almost everyone else uses the regular interface.
