Maybe the op should have qualified those more, but the key point in that paragraph was as 1 out of 10 rather than 1 out of 40, there's more focus on you.

It's great to see new design patterns. The adaptive accordion is a cool riff on the standard (boring) accordion. Kudos to you guys, and I hope other users like it as quickly as I did.

No vacation really sucks. I took 2 months between jobs once, but I've always been able to take a week or two weeks at a time. Now, we have the same policy as netflix. Basically you take time off when you want it, and you take as much as you

Any kind of accusation made public is a tricky beast. There are 3 possibilities for the accusation: 1. The accusation is correct in it's entirety and should be taken at face value 2. The basis of the accusation is correct, but additional in

That's simplistic advice. Food additives like High Fructose Corn Syrup cause you to crave more food even though you're calorically fine. If you listen to what your body says while eating poorly, you will over eat. http://www.wellnessresour

The tech doesn't seem that complex, but successful businesses aren't about ideas, or technology. They are about applying technology to ideas and getting people to use it. The hard part to replicate of what octopart did is the 'putting all t

A little off topic, but did anyone else not wait through the 30-second ad to watch the video? I find myself bouncing more and more on videos that do that.

Absolutely! Don't lose that attitude. You won't win over everyone and the fact that anyone cares enough about something you made to share their opinion with you is awesome.

Im not sure it has "hit beta". Im running a CR-48 on the beta channel, and I'm up to date running 0.11.257.91. Switching to the dev channel doesn't seem to provide 0.12 when I hit update.

It makes sense. Your example with "Brown" is interesting, but it might be more relatable if you expand the use case a little more. Explain why you are trying to find related files in this case. That sort of thing. Also, it seems as though t

My previous comment is a little tongue in cheek, but it would be cool if they weren't perpetuating the media stereotype that hacker == cracker. A bunch of other sticklers on "Hacker News" bring it up when people misuse the term. http://sea

The title was misleading. I assumed a "Web App Hacker" was someone who creates web apps, not someone who breaks into web apps ("Web App Cracker"). AFAIK, hacker news is not a news site for people who break into web apps.

For context, you can check out his demo of Radbox at New York Tech Meetup in March: http://www.livestream.com/nytechmeetup/video?clipId=pla_4957... Aditya seems like really amicable guy and I wish him the best of luck.

At least in NYC, the pedestrian crossing buttons have no effect on the traffic lights. They computerized the traffic grid and them pesky pedestrians screw up the flow. So you can push all you want, but it wont speed things up.
