One thing eBay seems to be doing better at than Amazon, is having well known retailers using them as an outlet. I also find it amazing how PayPal has morphed from a payment option that people may have used on suspect e-commerce websites, to

Bear in mind that Microsoft isn't exactly a well regarded player with the tech crowd. Many of us grew up watching our favourite technologies being assimilated and/or wiped out by them, so there is always going to be suspicion and

There has been similar changes in their European operations some months back. Many items are no longer covered by complementary postage. Deliveries also seem to take longer to 'ship' (that might be my imagination though). I think

I am willing to bet that tests give an advantage to applicants with no commercial experience, as well as those that have no life outside of technology. If that's what you want in employees then sure, it's a good way to find them,

Critics don't write reviews to be used for promotion. More experienced reviewers try to construct their articles in such a way that they are difficult to quote.

To me cinemas / movie theaters are about the film. I never eat or drink while I'm there... maybe I missed the memo.

Movies are probably the most easily justifiable for DRM. They aren't the sorts of 'products' that people watch over and over again (unless they get a cult following). A single viewing of a movie reduces the value to a point w

It would be nice when a company is shuttered or acquired for it to briefly state what it did in the announcement. I saw one business last night that had been acquired by Google with no mention of its purpose.

That's just the standard disclaimer anyone would use if they allow user submitted content. If you change your service in the future, then you need to protect yourself from litigious users.

Developing an in-house browser engine is rather expensive. It's a moving target with constant pressure to better rivals. There's a need to patch an infinite number of websites, which don't care that you exist. I can understan

Better to let the reader make up their own opinion rather than to push your own. 'Slave' is a loaded term, it's like calling someone a 'terrorist' or a 'murderer'.

Aiming towards the higher end makes you vulnerable when recessions hit. You also have to compete with carriers that are run by government related entities, who operate for the prestige rather than the profits.

It's for this reason that I wonder why we are even seeing a news item about it. Retailers like Tesco, Argos, Asda and so on, buy hardware from OEMs all the time and put their brand names on them. I wonder why this one is special?

If 1.1 million users are so desperate to sign up without you actually launching, then there's potentially a heck of a lot more waiting for a proper launch. Their business will be used to dealing with one user = one phone, so the growth

The movie industry is different because their products only last a couple of hours and repeat viewing is minimal. Cinemas need exclusivity in order to justify the premium. Then you get a quick home video version. Then a rental. Perhaps a co

It's one of those situations where people will look back and wonder why this resource was wasted, when we knew it was finite. They won't have a concept of commercial value and will find it difficult to understand that justificatio

It's worth noting that modern offices often have the ability to place walls wherever their clients need them to be. That said, they are no better than cubicles because they have virtually no sound isolation.

Sarcastic or not, it's an important point. You are giving up a significant attribute of your identity to the protection of a US technology company. Whether that bothers you (or not) depends on how much you value your privacy.

One of the main advantages of phpMyAdmin is the ability to work on the database without the need of a command line. Not all website maintainers have access to that level of control.
