The next article is a rant about how covid lockdowns are anti-freedom and everyone should stop listening to the experts and elites who rule us.

Yeah, this doesn't take into account the fact that you can activate you subscription only on the months that you actually use it. This is super-easy on iOS, buy YMMV on other platforms and payment methods.

AWS has what they call a cost-following strategy, where their pricing actually exposes the architecture of the system to the point where you can understand how it's implemented and the data structures used if you look at the pricing. I

I sleep pretty well with a CPAP, but I feel like I'm very sensitive to pressure inside my mouth or teeth. I keep adjusting my CPAP nose mask so it puts no pressure on my teeth, and rests on my cheeks instead. Not sure how I'd take

No, Andy Jassy is pretty vocal, well-spoke and popular. Did a really good job with AWS too. Even Google and Microsoft aren't faceless, and Andy is just as memorable as Sundar and Satya.

There was a thought expressed in one of the original drafts that went along the lines of "the only people worrying about generics will be library authors", which I think will and should be true. The structure and architecture of e

The link itself is global, not local to a transaction. So I can have the same link posted on my Github repo to support development or in my HN bio to buy me a coffee. That link then generates a checkout session when you visit it, and if the

The event loop will queue these up for you, but it should be possible to build a queuing library over this. What kind of API did you have in mind?

Yeah, one can definitely build a finite state machine on an infinite state machine, that’s essentially what the library helps you do. It providers a framework to do so with some boilerplate taken care of.

The general use reducer is a infinite state machine, while this is a finite state machine. The normal reducer can allow your app to be in any state, while finite state machines let you list the only possible states (like ON, OFF, UNKNOWN; o

macOS does a notarization check with Apple servers the first time, can take a while. On subsequent runs the certificate is cached, so should be much quicker.

Seems like a really clean and testable system, too. Can make a harness with a set of inputs, run the cycle and test outputs consistently. Performance is also easily checked, each cycle needs to run without 100ms for the 10hz systems, I gues

No, just picked and chose the ones that made their point well. The point of this kind of publication isn't to tell lies, just selective truths that push an agenda.

Certainly seems that way. It looks like there going to be an M1 chip for 99% of folks, which works fine for all non-CPU-pegging work (Air, 13" MBP, 24"iMac, Mini), an M1.Large for stuff that pegs CPU (27"iMac, 16"MBP), a

Think this is a hard limitation of some sort on the M1 itself. This iMac seems like it's the Air version of the iMac, definitely not the "Pro" version. All the pro stuff will likely go there.

27" / 32" will likely come with the M2 / next-gen chip, and probably have the XDR level display built in, maybe optional on the iMac Pro type model.

Unlikely, there's too much pride in each local language. Might all converge on English over a couple of generations, though, but more for commercial reasons.
