I tend to keep completely separate physical machines. I have Thinkpad provided by work, and a personal Thinkpad. When the workday starts, the work machine goes in the dock, then at the end of the workday, I swap it out for the personal mach

I made the horrible mistake of partnering with my father on a business venture last year, and it has significantly strained the relationship. That was with a very clear line drawn between personal and business finances. I couldn't imag

My understanding of the Louisville RFI is that it is to be an open access network. The prospect of a local fiber plant providing last mile connectivity between various ISPs and customers excites me greatly.

Seriously? You're implying you're disappointed in yourself for not being on the Forbes list by 28? Build something awesome for the sake of building something awesome. Fuck being on a list of manipulative assholes.

Holy crap that is expensive. I'd expect a service like this to be less expensive than my local home brew store due to the grain bill being ordered in bulk. For comparison, a super high gravity Belgian black will run about $60, includin

I don't want to build on a codebase that needs 5 extensions out of the box to be sane. I want to build on a platform where far more than 5 extensions are needed to be sane -- I want the vast majority of my "core" functional

PGP is built in to Linux as a core service, just not the way you're describing it. The vast majority of distros (Anything DEB or RPMS based, and I'm sure others) distribute software authenticated with GPG. Gnome already makes it

At the very least I can confirm the object is identical (same md5sum) across Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris. Past sources have indicated to me Windows shares his object.

It goes (or at least at one time went) well beyond that. Last I heard, nvidia.o was shared across Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, and Windows.

What was the motivation behind forking the distro rather than building packages and an apt repo for Debian or Ubuntu? This is certainly a neat desktop environment, but it always makes me sad to see things done in a manner that makes it diff
