If we really want to be clear, a Yubikey is a token capable of running applets including, but not limited to FIDO U2F. Other applets commonly used include PIV (pkcs11), OpenPGP, OATH, and Yubi's own OTP applet.

Throttling is far from the only sort of shenanigans ISPs like to play on their subscribers. A very cynical view might be that any (potentially innovative/interesting) network protocols that aren't easily productized will suffer fr

Er, the same as the advantages of running any web application on k8s. Django web applications themselves are well suited for stateless hosts. You don't need any persistence where the Django app runs, you push your DB persistence off to

This brings some really nice updates to IPA, particularly regarding replication. I'm stoked.

More and more, the 'exclusive' feature I want in any product is for it to do what it says on the goddamn tin. Alas that's a feature few care to provide.

I can't speak definitively for any specific project, but I gather much of this is due situations like this: SoC Mfg designs a new chip, heavily leveraging IP from an old chip. Since some old IP is still around, and already (mostly) has

It's far worse than that. If it were simply a matter of running mfg's blob's, this would be an easy problem. Instead manufacturers fork the kernel, then patch the hell out of it (often in horrific-never-going-to-be-accepted-u

A great deal of the cruft in modern distros comes from docs, example configs, etc -- things Alpine does a great job of cutting out. Obviously a glibc variant is going to have a much larger memory footprint, and (arguably) is less secure tha

As long as we keep seeing modems on the same silicon as our application processors, attempting to secure a device against even a relatively incompetent state actor is mostly pointless.

G3 and G4 do not use the same SoC. G3 has an MSM8916, while G4 has an MSM8952. Nougat's CTS requires either OpenGL ES 3.1 or Vulkan support. MSM8916 supports neither.
