Speaking of Thomas L. Friedman, I highly recommend his book The World is Flat.

I think instead of learning Flash you're better off learning something like Haxe, which originated from an AS2 compiler and is often used to port old Flash projects. A lot of people who used to use Flash to develop games just moved ont

I think what GP meant was that money, beyond a certain point , means little. Upto that point money does mean a lot, and anybody who denies that has never lived in poverty. What that specific point is, depends on who you're asking. If

Unpopular opinion but I think unproven unbacked anecdotes need to be punished, here and elsewhere. In my experience many of them could be easily debunked by someone with a deep understanding of the subject being talked about, but newcomers

Yes. I think the reason why most people browse HN is for those rare nuggets of knowledge that one can sometimes only find here. Sure, the general quality of discourse here is greater relative to the discussion found on Reddit/Twitter&#

This. If the personalities you mentioned didn't have the soft skills GP was talking about, you wouldn't even know of their existence. Sheer technical ability alone is not enough to be a great programmer. If you don't know how

This isn't about "sensitivity". This is about racism. Just because you had a bad experience with a few Indian developers doesn't mean that all of them are bad. And where did that 5% chance come from? Any kind of data to

I'm not saying Anki flashcards don't count as notes, but I think OP was referring to the kind of notes that would typically be created by software like Obsidian, OneNote, etc.

How big of un upgrade is it from 16 gigs to 32? I don't use Android Studio or any Jetbrains software but for me 4 GB isn't too low. In my eyes 16 GB is almost too much, so I get shocked when I hear of people using 32/64 GB.

I've heard that NA is more welcoming of immigrants because as a country it relied more on immigrants' brain power and brain drain from other countries. What do you think of that statement?
