Containers can be broken out of. They are not a security tool. However, from a configuration perspective I totally agree. Python ecosystem is broken beyond repair. Just chuck it all in Docker and get back to programming!

I mean low EV compared to other careers right now. Obviously automation benefits the ownership class massively. Buy tech stocks; they are discounted at the moment.

Low EV. Some make it very big, but most earn nothing and retrain.

That's not really how it works. At least in the UK (and most western countries are similar), the government decides (with ministers) what the curriculum should be and how it will be assessed. They decided that rote learning is what stu

Humans get things wrong too. A better question is: what error rate is acceptable for this task? Jobs where higher error rates are acceptable, or where errors are easier to detect, will succumb to automation first. Art and poetry fit both of

It's interesting that everyone is talking about programmers being replaced by AI, but the model did far better on the humanities type subjects than on the programming tests.

Is it a good insight though? The training data for many of these premier models is already available, and that's even better than some input-output pairs.

I can't help but feel like there is an element of sour grapes here after Yudkowsky's attempts to build an AI failed (assuming that's what he was really trying to do, and not just to lure young and enthusiastic grad students i

Fair point, so I will flesh this out a bit. The typical pattern we see in PMQs every week is this: 1. Valid concern from the opposition 2. Rishi ignores the concern 3. Rishi says something about "the member from Islington Nor
