No shit I will. But I happen to be loaded and the cast majority of people are not. It's the people without money to deploy, the people who depend on fixed income (elderly, retired) and the people who had all their money in some index f

You can make a Philips cough assist type device which uses abrupt pressure changes to expel fluid. Need to be super careful with these you can do real damage if not used correctly. Those are also nowhere near as effective as the real deal i

Ah if only that was the case. Turns out, when the government is involved then the taxpayer is buying but the government is deciding what to buy. There is no hedge fund buying airlines right now. There will be a shitload of them lining up on

Patronizing and counter productive is giving people money for nothing. It's telling people that they're useless. You should read up on the beggar networks in India and the exploitation that occurs when you handout money for no wor

I really want capitalism to give you a wage to do all those things. I understand it's been cronified and monopoloies have fucked over a whole lot of people. The real fix is to fix capitalism, not write you a check every month for being

I grew up in India, I know beggars and begging better than most. I even helped one sell books on the road and now he has a bookstore and his kid is in college. I handout food all the time. But never, ever cash. UBI will not solve begging, a

There's a big difference between money and money that can only be spent on a certain set of services. As far as I know welfare is still food stamps etc i.e. not cash.

Btw most of these shareholders have been smart enough to sell immediately when the markets began falling so they will buy these stocks at the bottom and get bailed out all over again by the taxpayer and watch the capital multiply. I'm

Agreed that everyone deserves a basic standard of living as a human right but disagree that UBI is the path to that. Giving money to people instantly creates a class of beggars. Beggars with voting rights will vote for people who give them

Cool but almost all covid patients who get to a stage where they need ventilation need invasive, mechanical ventilation. NIV does not allow the lungs to clear fluid and mucus. It also allows the virus to spread via aerosol and infect anyone

Any successful containment measure will be later criticized as "too early" and/or "too aggressive". Much, much better than the alternative. H1N1 was serious and compared to this, well handled.

Who gives a fuck about some wasted gas? If the economic freeze lasts long enough, the service sector gets decimated. People will be laid off and the secondary effects of this virus will be almost as bad as the life toll.

You are the man. Preach on. I wonder how many teams with active users in the 1000s have fully dockerized/Kubernetes/microservice type shit designed for 10000x load that they will likely never get to because they didn't spend

Problem with this is that any half competent team can put something like this up in an hour or so. Wallboards are for high level stats - like 1 or 2 numbers the team should focus on. Maybe the tiles are super smart and can do uptime testing

I'm all for hating on authoritarians but this is nonsense. If anything, authoritarianism allowed China to build facilities and implement ridiculous quarantine measures in record time.

I did 3 stsartups as an early employee. First raised 27M then acquihired, common stock wiped out. Second is still going strong and profitable, my 2 years there will probably net me a few 100k. Third was a home run, my 6 years there made me

It'll probably be too hard to regulate every unethical dark pattern and shitty default on the site. What you can do is force Facebook to allow the user to 1 click export their graph and all friend data with it in a standardized format.
