Never heard of Talos before now. That looks pretty cool and I might start playing with that on my home lab. Can't use it at work for reasons, but good to keep on top of tech (even if I am a little behind)

If the Mass Effect games have taught me anything, it's that heat dissipation in outer space is hard.

> national security breakthroughs Can you explain what you mean by this? Still not sure how SAR would fit in here...

I suppose some version of CTRL-ALT-DELETE is needed to reset the car's OS.

That's a pretty privileged take there. No, not everyone gets to choose what makes them happy when they have obligations to others or even to themselves if they want to eat that night or not. Glad you do, but don't assume everyone

A few issues I see. First is what does it do when you come across a no-haggle dealership? Next is does this negotiate the value of your trade-in? Finally, the initial negotiation up front on the sale price (and trade-in value if applicable)

Currently on a production promotion outage right now and reading this while we wait for some caches to be purged to see if it fixes things. Not quite the same and consequences here are much less than what those guys had to do. Still sucks e

Fascinating that we're still getting useful science out of almost 50 year old tech. I think New Horizons is the only other probe that's expected to go interstellar.

I really dislike this take and I see it all the time. Also I'm old and I'm jaded, so it is what it is... Someone decides X technology is too heavy-weight and wants to just run things simply on their laptop because "I don&#x27

If 1.2 billion dollars in valuation was destroyed in 49 days because the CTO wasn't there, there's something to be said about the CTO's inability to delegate and ensure they have a team that supports their decisions and visio

I've never been a fan of JRPGs, preferring things like BG3, Mass Effect, Dragon Age (not the new one), and Skyrim. But after 800 hours in BG3, I think it's time to try something else and this looks like it might be that.

I still love my Jenkins Pipelines, Groovy shared libraries, and Bash scripts. It may be old, the UI may be a little crusty, but it's well understood, it just works, and I don't think much about the tool anymore.

I loved playing No One Lives Forever 1&2 on my Voodoo 5 5500. That was the height of my PC building days. Now as a wizened old man, I'm stuck with these Apple Macbook Pros/Airs and they do well enough. But I do miss building m

That 128Kbps on ISDN was the like the gold standard back then! I knew some sysadmins who had that installed to their homes so they could be available at any time. All paid for by the company they worked for.

Same. Lost both smell and taste for a few days after I got COVID in 2021. My taste came back quickly, but my sense of smell took longer to come back and is still probably about 50% diminished. I can't smell things from a distance, only

That's interesting. I use BBEdit for that purpose and VSCode for code editing. I really don't like BBEdit's layout except for log viewing and unsaved snipets/notes. I might have to try Sublime now...
