Your "thin sliver" idea is intriguing. Maybe we can call slivers "simple components" and build bigger things out of them. I wonder if there would be any benefit to that?

Make sure you are getting the right repository. Once github began supporting organizations, we moved things to github.com/clojure (not github.com/richhickey). You can get RC1 at the top of the download page ( http://clojure.org/downloads ).
