How does that run counter to anything? If only 33% want to be fully remote why are you surprised a 4 person startup wants an office space? That seems pretty reasonabls statistically?

Yes? Even if it's a sinking ship that will not matter in the least as an intern. For a company of Facebook's size, that will be a problem on a 10 year time horizon. Meta has solid engineering reputation. You'll learn a lot an

It is the same in the states with Square (among others), but the ease of “I have to do nothing” is nonetheless extremely alluring to the most adhoc of businesses.

I think you misunderstand the product. You can take payments from any contactless credential. That means credit cards, Apple Pay, google pay, Samsung pay, and so forth.

Because a lot of people, going by the sales numbers, have iPhones? It’s more for very small businesses, who just need a quick and easy way to take card payments. Larger outfits will naturally invest in “real” PoS devices.

That’s only true in a nominal sense. Money right now is worth more than money in the future. Money spent on reserved instances is money Amazon has right now, whereas net AWS spend from spot instances is money in the future. How much money r

There’s a difference between hating Meta for its ethics and hating Meta as a money making machine. People are doing the latter and that’s pretty silly. Meta is, however unethically, a good entity at the goal of making money.

Depends on whether you use the traditional or vernacular definition of AI. Traditionally it was more about the how not the what. AI was an agent acting rationally in an environment. Pac-Man guided by Dijkstra? That's AI, there's

You'd have to do the join on the client. This is a problem in general for scaling SQL - its not impossible, but with sharded SQL servers you have to be very deliberate in how you do joins so as to coincide as much as possible with your

It makes way more sense to do value analysis purely on what what you gain vs what it costs rather than trying to factor in the cost of making or implementing said item. I don't care if the bill of materials is really high, that's

Hi, looks great. I don’t see a license in the repo - what is it licensed under? I would definitely consider it for goofier projects but want to make sure it’s permissively licensed first.

Probably but you would have to submit an absurdly large amount of code to make a dent. Practically unreasonable considering their training corpus is also increasing per lines of public code submitted on github. So not only would you have to

Git vaults do a lot more than host remote git repos. Gitlab and github are valuable for everything else they do - the UI, PR management, issue tracking, CI, and so forth.

I would consider that anti-fragile, actually. Cracked front or back glass is limited to a visual defect most of the time, hence why so many people continue to use it. In comparison, something like an old iPod with a spinning HDD could have
