Venture Capital firms are early stage private investors. They don't do LBOs with dying companies, since that would naturally be a late stage investment. You're probably thinking of private equity.

Because way more than 50% of your friends have it in the US; if you're a teenager, 80%+ of your friends have an iPhone. It's the default messaging app, and it works well, and it's become somewhat of a status symbol.

There's no way to have accurate, completely relevant numbers - not even Apple can track that. But, with my anecdotal experience graduating from HS in the US having just caught the iPhone craze, here are some numbers that support that.

Quite often, actually. Well, in the US at least. "Green bubble" ickyness is a real thing among the US youth. School children get bullied until they ask their parents for an iPhone for that blue bubble. Dates will ghost you if you

The branding is arbitrary. If you want to read the tea leaves, it seems to indicate that Apple is going to incorporate more Mac-like elements into the iPad Pro, which from its inception has had some users struggling to make full use of it&#

I don't think it's reasonable to expect user replaceable batteries in airpods themselves - case, perhaps. That's one form factor where it's not only small, but every gram lighter matters.

Huh. I haven't had any issues with libraries that use CFFI. I've had issues with pip and building from source being incredibly fragile before (in general, not an M1 specific thing), so I'm not that surprised, but unfortunatel

(Not OP btw) While I'm not sure if it's building from source or pulling a binary, just pip3 install pandas seems to work just fine. Not a Rosetta terminal. Just ran a fresh install from a new poetry venv, seemed to work fine. This

Yep. Given that the fastest Windows ARM device is an M1 Macbook Pro running Windows in Parallels, there's currently no competition for local platforms and ARM. If Amazon and Nvidia's ARM server chips really pick up steam, then the

I've used the preview release, and my experience with ARM containers has been good - even seems a little more stable than the Intel one. But I only did a x86 Linux container as a test, and it wasn't a great experience. Seemed vi

You can still buy the Magsafe Macbook charger from Apple's website to this day . Like, Google it and it'll come up. A charger is completely different from a lithium-ion battery, which degrades over time.

There's two parts to it. One, that macOS has a proscribed way for apps to compose command, ctrl, and option for shortcuts, whereas it's basically the Wild West on the other platforms. So it's just generally nice on macOS. The

I'm not sure about Go, but Rust should work on everything LLVM can emit native code for. While ARM may not be listed as "tier 1", Rust worked on M1's on launch day because of LLVM portability.
