I think this is true for any RDBMS, though. If your block device has high latency, you will see bad perf when the DB tries to fsync.

I actually don't hate `file.existsAtCurrentInstant`. `file.exists` is so misused. Maybe functions suitable for crypto use should be in their own "crypto primitives" package.

It was likely only on your local shelf in the first place because of growth hacking; the fact that it's gone doesn't mean they won't be able to continue the brand or keep making great ice cream. And maybe it will come back, o

At my workplace, we have a few blocks of time scattered around the schedule for teammates to just jump in and code with other people. No agenda, no one is required to join. But a few always do, because it's so pleasant.

What a strangely uncivil response. I was trying to meet folks in the middle here and at least kindly suggest some attribution as a reply to some now (appreciably) deleted grumbling. I'm not trying to impress anyone by suggesting it, it

I understand the urge to handwave away copyright or whatever, but it would be nice to at least see some attribution or the links from which you obtained the fonts. The people who made the content you're redistributing would probably ap

I think you may have missed the thrust of the earlier comment (which is that some developers may elect to never use libraries that use generics, whereas some developers may prefer libraries that use generics, and it could cause a schism in

I think that's the point of the reply, that we'll get codebases that aren't mutually compatible due to a resistance of or lean towards using generics. I'm not so certain that that's the case, but it is an interestin

It can't be atomic if it's done `CONCURRENTLY`. You can't even do that in a transaction, Postgres will tell you it won't work. By using `CONCURRENTLY`, you're making it clear that you will handle atomicity yourself,

Well, you can't just delete it. It is an object that was created by some user and there's no good reason for the database to get rid of it automatically. The database keeps a record of the invalid thing, even though it is invali

It's worth noting, I'm mostly not defending Lua here. I enjoyed my time with it, and then when I put it down I realized how unhappy I was with it. There's no language I really truly love, but the one I find myself recommendin

The point about GraphQL seems misdirected. GraphQL works fine with Postgres as long as you are using (working) dataloaders appropriately, I promise. I'm afraid I don't understand why a non-Postgres DB should be chosen for GraphQL
