Grove looks very cool. But groupme is free and has a good iphone/android client that a non-technical user can setup and use. Push notifications work great. But Grove intrigues me for the ability to hook up useful bots to IRC. If Groupme had

Maybe - but I find it handy to be able to use the browser's URL autocomplete to fill these in for me. That is, I type "5" and firefox pops up with 5.minutestocountdown.com and I can just hit enter to start it.

Am I the only person who would rather this was a private group? (so non-members can't see posts). Even if Jason just approved every join request I think this would be better. Example: your employer doesn't need to know that you are talking

I just used it to give an easy-to-remember name to a rackspace cloud server I spun up yesterday. This is a throw-away server I'll likely nuke within a month, but for now I will remember how to get back without needing to memorize the IP add

Just tried the site with my iphone 4. It guessed my location correctly and pointed out French lessons that are happening nearby right now. Cool! I'd like it if there was a way to list events happening 'today' and also 'this week' in my area

Think about ways you can spend a few dollars to save yourself time. By driving to my subway stop and paying to park instead of walking, I save myself over 5 mins each way every day. That comes to over 3 hrs a month I get back--about 40 hrs
