I do not take testosterone. I occasionally try to make a habit of taking creatine but other than that and whey protein while weightlifting (another habit I struggle to reliably form) that’s it. Maybe I’m out of touch but I would be astonish

Mine was similar, labral repair as well as rotator cuff arthroscopy. I had nearly zero ability to lift the arm under its own power at one week and limited (but good for one week) flexibility. To be clear, I did not engage in any actual dril

I had shoulder surgery last May. My surgeon told me no combat sports (BJJ, judo) for six months minimum. I was 40 at the time. I went back on the mats a week later. Started with only doing warmups and movement drills, worked up to gentle fl

That exact sentence is what worries me the most. Maybe not this one, but blowing up a planet-killer would be a terrible idea. And given the political climate, you and I both know exactly which party would ignore the data and do it anyway

The band is pretty accurate. We know at what point it will intersect Earth’s orbit to a high degree. We don’t know what time it will do so. If it passes by sooner or later than the critical window, it will miss. If it passes by while Eart

Probabilistically it’s true. Pick a number at random from the uniform distribution of values between zero and one. With nearly total certainty, this value cannot be represented except by enumerating every single one of its infinite digits.

This is like suggesting that a boat's hull is designed to snap off in the event it encounters unexpected forces outside the water.

Wings don’t really transmit much stress to the fuselage. You can think of both wings as a single unit on which the fuselage rides. The fuselage couldn’t take a fraction of the stress the wings are designed to endure.

Yeah, but the whole point here is that the engines are very specifically designed to break off in a way that preserves the integrity of the wings . The integrity of the wings is a function that supersedes just about every other possible th

The fuselage isn’t being stressed in a wing load test. There is zero way the fuselage could stand up to the level of force being applied to the wings.

I seriously, seriously doubt it. The wings are so utterly critical to flight I can’t possibly imagine any situation they’d be engineered to snap off under. Further, that’s where the fuel is and any crash involving a wing rupture is dramatic

I hate regulatory capture as much as anyone, but this makes for a more damning-sounding headline than it actually is. To steal a comment from Reddit[1] user NewInThe1AC: > It's a lot less concerning if you actually think about what

Same here. It took six designers to change the color of the YouTube logo, but the design department of a company that built its entire existence on the web can’t build a functioning website. Design is how it works. And your website doesn’t

What did you find annoying or infuriating about this? It’s quite possibly jj’s most beloved feature. Since all of your changes are constantly being recorded, you're covered by your VCS even if you don’t commit . As a 1+ year jj user n

FWIW I 100% concede that there are uses for LTS systems. For things where active development means releasing a new product that customers replace their old one with, go for it. For systems not under active development like a nuclear plant c

This is the approach I prefer for upgrading when able. But you should still be exercising this approach regularly when possible. You’re still upgrading to new versions, you’re just not upgrading live systems. At least with k8s, this appro

Funny, because we’ve been on RHEL. After one round of calcification, upgrading our datacenters for each future RHEL release took years of concerted efforts. We actually lost ground every year.

My grocery store is across the street. I will walk there in the morning just for a gallon of milk for my coffee when I run out. It's hard to convey how little an inconvenience it is when groceries are a four minute walk away.

With all due respect, it sounds like you might have some confusion about what happened. If you run `jj new`, `jj st` will virtually by definition show a clean working copy. You've created a new, empty revision, and as a consequence the
