I'd add overwhelmingly increasing stupidity by enforced safety, preventing people from learning from their (small) mistakes, leading to big ones. Just recently I was talking to a friend about how everything agile is being exterminated

It was BetterDisplay. Thanks for the hint, will take a look at SwitchResX as well. BetterDisplay looks too complicated for what I need it to do (just switch the screen to 2560x1080 scaled).

Yeah, I made the mistake of thinking I could use MacStudio for work right away. My bad. Next time I won't frantically try to work and take a vacation instead. /s

I guess it's enforced top-down. Yesterday I picked up my MacBook from a logicboard repair and they forced Tahoe on it despite running Sonoma originally so I spent most of yesterday getting rid of Tahoe and reverting back to Sonoma.

It should be, its size is somewhat similar to a 31" 4k I have next to it just the ultra-wide adds those extra inches.

Unfortunately, resolutions offered were weird. Native is 5120x2160 but that wasn't offered and scaled resolutions were weird. I guess macOS didn't read monitor's information properly or something. I wasted a few hours frantic

I recently bought a MacStudio with 512GB of RAM and connected it to a LG 5k2k monitor. For some reason there was no way to change the font size (they removed the text size "Larger Text ... More Space" continuum from the Display se

QKV attention is just a probabilistic lookup table where QKV allow adjusting dimensions of input/output to fit into your NN block. If your Q perfectly matches some known K (from training) then you get the exact V otherwise you get some

This formula also leads to weird geometric perceptual distortions like when one stands in front of a tall building, looks up and down and the shape of the building changes depending on the angle of the view. VR got rid of that.

My guess is M5 Ultra will be like DGX Spark for token prefill and M3 Ultra for token generation, i.e. the best of both worlds, at FP4. Right now you can combine Spark with M3U, the former streaming the compute, lowering TTFT, the latter doi

I don't get the negative sentiment wrt Manus. It was the best product in its area from the beginning, eclipsing anything US produced prior to it; only later US companies started catching up. I have a bitter taste in my mouth from Meta

I know of three possible reasons: - your supplement is a dud - you took niacin too often (best to do it once a few days as body adapts quickly) - you have a gene mutation that prevents you from absorbing enough B3 (common in some schizophre

Well, NAD+ kinda has the potential to fix multiple things at once if those things are caused by energetic imbalance/deficit. Re-balancing NAD+ could just fix multiple failing systems that were running low on energy and not doing their

It's quite terrible how the medical "debugging" works or rather doesn't. You run a bunch (at best) of tests then pick the most probable diagnosis and that's about it for 99.9% of cases. And then in a review you meas

NMN and NR are both good but NMN might not be available anymore as some company decided to repurpose it as a drug instead of supplement. Best combo nowadays looks to be liposomal NR with pterostilbene, a sirtuin activator. NR boosts NAD+ (t

M3 Ultra has a crappy GPU, somewhere around 3060Ti-3070. Its only benefit is the memory throughput that makes LLM token generation fast, at around 3080 level. But token prefill that determines time-to-first-token is extremely slow, and coin

I think the op meant pipeline parallelism where during inference you only transfer the activation between layers where you cut the model in two, which shouldn't be too large.

So FAIR has been effectively disbanded, LeCun is moving out, Wang is doing 996 and teams are hiring to fire to insulate people who need to vest their stock. How long until the company accumulates enough stress to rupture completely?

Does this also run with Exo Labs' token pre-fill acceleration using DGX Spark? I.e. take 2 Sparks and 2 MacStudios and get a comparable inference speed to what 2x M5 Ultras will be able to do?
