You can do both though - limit the amount of information you do send _and_ ask those that do respect it not to track the information you _must_ send.

Are they not anonymous? You might be able to recognise it by the work, but at my university, marking was done by people sufficiently far from teaching individual students to ensure that is not the case.

Just don't try this trick if sending things overseas. The recipient won't appreciate the customs bill (20% in the UK).

Mistakes happen. My grandparents got one because the sign was a good 50m away (a long way for a disabled driver) and looked like it was referring to another part of the road, and my mother got one when she stopped for 20s to pick me up from

Standard practice at university. Everyone just had a generic <Name>, Selwyn College, Cambridge address, so you'd just meet them at the main gate. Rarely checked ID (non-Deliveroo).

I can see the argument, but completely ignoring the date means that you only have to control the domain _once_ to have a certificate forever. A grace period of a few days might more sense, but completely ignoring the date seems risky.

That doesn't counter "That alone". A single example doesn't prove that that alone may may cause it - even within that example, there may be other factors at play.
