Hi JP, I love the website. Great job. I'd start collecting email addresses at the bottom of blog articles to reengage with the visitors in the future. You can do it unobtrusively and actually it also helps users. For example, I would l

As a Hipchat user, I welcome this decision. I was not happy with using Hipchat at work for a number of reasons including * No inline syntax highlight * No edit of message (apparently I've seen some do this but I never figured it out) *

One of the things that helped me as a learner years ago was publishing my programs out in the wild, usually by open sourcing them. But time and again I refrained from doing so because I was self-conscious about my code. But when I look back

Very interesting. However I'm not sure the benefit of saving couple of lines outweighs the cost of depending on a non-standard syntax thorough a transpiler. You mentioned that this is a proof of concept hack. What's the plan ahead

I have made a habit of quickly writing down what I learn when I code. It has been very effective for learning programming as well as other subjects. Therefore I wrote this article to share it, and explain why it has been working.

I am writing a story about how I learned programming for the last five years, hoping that it can help other developers. “Build shitty stuff that works” is maybe the most important message I would like to share. It is helpful on multiple lev

Thanks for this. A thought: it says "don't move your cursor" but that doesn't really apply when I'm on mobile.

Very cool. It'd be nice to be able to type in the select box because scrolling hundreds of countries is not fun. Also some countries are hard to find even in alphabetical order. e.g. South Korea == Korea, South == Republic of Korea ==

My reason for keeping a knowledge base is to forget less of what I learn every day. I used to use Evernote for this but it wasn't quite working because of constant context switching and lack of spaced repetition. So I wrote open sourc

For the similar reasons I don't really use markdown notes apps. Instead I write all important notes to Evernote despite it being rather heavy weight. When I do use markdown note apps is if I want to quickly jot down an idea or what I j

I'd be wary to use a hosted option because a browser in a remote server will then contain my credentials and browsing history. So if OP goes down this road then I think he should allow users to access machines.
