There used to be a sub-telco called Genie in the UK (powered by O2/One2One) when I was in school, they offered unlimited texts on a pre-paid sim card tariff for £10 a month. I used to tell them around my school for £15 per sim card, I learn

I guess now Chrome has extension bindings to the webkit inspector, it would be possible to create this then.

The first two points seem more inline with Chrome for Android... but afiak, Chrome does have remote debugging built-in, you just have to enable it via command line. It's build into WebKit and then up to the vendor to enable it... (I wish Sa

This is pretty cool, I wonder how they realised this was possible. I can only assume they monitored a lot of activations to realise it.

Android may be further ahead in features, but there's a lot of people who got a TouchPad in HP's firesale who would want extra functionality and now they can add it. I hope a OpenOS project starts soon rather than loads of people rushing to

I've been really lucky, straight out of university I've managed to only work with startups. I've had the opportunity to work with a few startups to get them to a first release [I graduated and moved to Germany helping startups as a contract

The cleaning issue isn't something that just popped up with the GM build. It existed before then in some of the later betas. As a developer it's verging on the lazy to wait for the GM before you update an app for an issue that you've known

All 3 of your examples are viable; and you're right, Obj-C isn't that hard to read once you understand the syntax.

Some sort of stylus would be a more natural fit for that. A keyboard would just slow you down (selecting text, marking it, annotating)

I've always thought it was retarded to include a hardware keyboard on a device that will be used ~95% of the time for reading stuff. It's a really smart move to remove it.

Finally. It has taken Amazon years to understand that a device used for reading shouldn't have a keyboard; users spend at least 90% of their time reading, yet they saw fit to add a keyboard which took up 25% of the hardware. I'll happily go

Also, there's a new feature of having a "retro" feel in OS X Lion: visible scrollbars and lack (Lion) of gestures. Further more, why do I need to restart my browser to install an extension in this day and age and why didn't it auto update i

Something like: NSArray *records = [db find:[NSDictionary dictionaryWithObject@"Joe" forKey:@"name"] limit:10]; [records sortedArrayUsingComparator:^(id a, id b) { // logic for sorting }]; ...and then you'd do the lower meth

I think Spotify would have been in a great position to argue with this, since they're the closest to being a worldwide provider for music services. Google Music and Rdio aren't available outside of the US/Canada.

But they could add 4 free filters and then charge you tier one pricing to unlock more via IAP and then get sued by Lodsys. I don't see how this could fail :)

It's a nice side project, but I can't see the functional usage of coffeescript in the long term. The whole concept of "compiling" to get valid javascript seems odd. It's not as if JS is a hard language or a particularly verbose language.

It's sad that you need a AV/Spyware scanner for phones... Sure, it makes sense that you need one, given that it's essentially a small computer, but apps that make it into the official market place or one that's held in high regard should sc
