It’s not quite as seamless though, sadly, it’s just the same as having a Pico plugged in via USB but it’s a good step, even if the X4 (assuming that’s what we’re referring to) has some other flaws!

The Pineboards PoE + NVMe HAT will be released next week and will allow you to have both, and some other 3rd party ones do the same. The official Pi M.2 HAT does block the PoE headers though sadly!

They did mention on their forums that a ROCK 6 ITX would likely come with socketed RAM but that's not likely to be until later this year sadly

I don't think they were saying that it has to be that big to fit an M.2 drive on it, they're pointing out that in the picture you shared, that space is for the M.2 NVMe drive to be mounted in

Ah, you power this device via PoE and it can then draw up to 25W from a PoE switch feeding it. You cannot power another device via PoE with the ROCK 5 ITX as the source

What if they pass the joining process but then later sneak something in that goes undetected until things go boom? There are alternatives, you can fork the original project, and things will go on. As others have said too, you can just updat

The numbers in the table are for the N100 machine, the 2756MB/s is what was mentioned as being the speed when the same disk was tested on the ROCK 5B ARM board (which has double the PCIe lanes)
