No, because you usually have to maintain programs, add features later on, rewrite/refactor parts of the program. Do you write only one-off scripts?

I remember that shortly after??? Scala native was first announced, Kotlin native made the news. How do these two compare today? Which one is better suited to create native executables now?

By this argument, wifi or bluetooth are even more insane. An interface that isn't a single-trick pony doesn't sound insane to me.

(I haven't watched the talk because nothing you said makes me expect hearing something new.) WRT verbosity and cognitive overload: I honestly challenge this statement. In a modern statically typed language, you have to add a few type a

It doesn't directly lead to cancer, it increases, to some extent, the risk of some kinds of cancer, which can be influenced by life-style choices, to evolve. (The title says "linked" in the sense of being correlated.) That&#x

The problem here is overtreatment. As a male, you'll sooner or later most likely get prostate cancer. Most men die before it becomes a problem though.

5-yrs mortality rates are a questionable statistic, especially when comparing death rates in time. Critics would argue that the lead time (i.e. the time between diagnosis and clinical symptoms) has changed in time due to earlier diagnosis b

Maybe you just live in the wrong region. Over here, you can get a decent wine for 5 EUR, if you know where to buy. That said a wine for 30 EUR from the same wine maker most likely is a lot better. One thing I've learned is to buy from

That's not right. Factor _levels_ can only be integers, factor _labels_ can only be strings since labels are the printable representation of a level. Maybe you could store the "real" values of a level as attribute (I.e. metad
