Nope! I like Three.js though. These visualizations are pretty intense.

Shameless plug for my React library for creating similar-looking, interactive visualizations on the web. Highly inspired by 3blue1brown/manim's style. Less focused around animation, more focused on interaction. :) https:/&#x

I mean, it's gotta be style and complexity too. LIDAR are quite ugly on test vehicles. Cameras are much simpler and easier to hide among the body.

Yeah, this is what I do when I drive. Otherwise I think it's a traffic light and I panic.

Remember, when embedding ASCII art in HTML, hide it from screenreaders and provide alt text. Otherwise it's an incomprehensible mess of seemingly random characters.

I think that's just the battery industry. Whenever I shop for batteries for robotics or RC vehicles they're in mAh too.

For anyone intending to use this in production, note that it is inoperable to people who can't use mice (which can be caused by any number of disabilities or conditions).

The article hints that (ostensibly) the reason the policy only applies to minor crimes is that they often do not hear back on what happened with minor cases. Presumably, high-profile cases will receive lots of follow-up attention, including

This reminds me of a cool article I read about how Kerbal Space Program 2 renders orbits. I love reading things like this: https://www.kerbalspaceprogram.com/dev-diaries/6509/

People keep shitting on JavaScript in this thread. To be clear, this is a JavaScript game that SpaceX made, and somebody wrote an autopilot... yes, in JavaScript... because that's what browsers run. It's a cool algorithm running i

I feel like there could be some valuable information here, but not knowing Haskell is a huge barrier for me. Anybody know what an analogous example would be in something like TypeScript or Java?

Yeah, I didn't know the specifics of this sim, I just wanted to clarify the advantages of WebGL for even 2D stuff. The OffscreenCanvas thing sounds awesome! I still think it might be slower because you can't utilize shaders... but

You can write vertex shaders in WebGL to massively parallelize calculating the movement of each particle. This isn't possible in canvas. And that just optimizes the physics—there's even more parallelization with the actual drawing

There's someone who does this every day outside my apartment at around 7:15. It is infuriating. 4-5 loud, inconsistently-spaced honks "just to be sure" when I'm sure their car locks silently on the first request. Most mo

This design seems like it'd be sort of easily replicated with a 3D printer and some 8020. I wonder if anyone has open sourced a clone. Edit: it is open source, and easily replicated by design! https://sienci.com/dmx-lon
