I don't think they will win. Every single uber driver I talk to loves it. They love that they can work whenever they want, that they can choose to work for Lyft or uber, etc. I don't know how you can say they are anything like an

Twitter is actually cash flow positive. The main reason they show an GAAP loss is because of stock based comp. Take that out of the equation and they are cash flow positive and pretty profitable.

Pure UX Designers are s dying breed. I know a bunch of designers and they confirm this. You need to know how to code on top of UX design. Finding pure UX design jobs are hard and in 5 years it might be extinct. It's just the nature of

It's a great idea but the reason why this won't work is because after you have invested time to train them from nothing, they will leave for another company. There is plenty of precedent for this, during the dotcom days and in Ind

2016 is the year when Silicon Valley feels the wrath of Buffett's "when the tide goes out" old saying, and probably most haven't been wearing swimming trunks in a long time. The stupidity, of course, is the media and the

Actually they're not volatile. They will predictably fall below the IPO price in a majority case after 18 months of their IPO. This holds true back during the dotcom days and even now. It is the minority that build an actual business

The main problem I imagine is as the platform/codebase matures, there may be compatibility issues as the compiler changes, as the underlying hardware changes, etc. This is something that is well hidden by a language like Python. I re

If it's a preference, then that's perfectly reasonable as I already noted. People prefer Subway to French Laundry but you can't argue that Subway is "better". And I believe you are wrong, in that most people, >

It's funny how on sites like HN, much of the herd will emote over how superior vacuum tube amps and vinyl records are "better" than current technology, despite the fact that science and math proves them wrong. It just goes t

There are some funds that some of my former coworkers talked to that will front all of the money to exercise your options, plus pay the taxes, in return for paying the money back for the above, plus 30% of the profits. You're basicall

I am very, very consciously attributing this to maliciousness. Have you not been paying attention to US politics for the last ~15 years?

Is it really surprising that our politicians believe they are above the laws that they create? They believe the laws are for us sheep and not for the wolves. Look at the insider trading laws for Congress as an example.

Doesn't the stock market create (and in the inverse, destroy) money? If Apple goes from $13/share to $700+/share, those hundreds of billions of dollars are basically created from thin air, aren't they?
