In my case, I wrote a JavaScript library that was just good enough to be useful, and well-documented, but not incredibly full-featured. People need changes and additions from time to time. Since I have a full time job, I turn down a lot of

One issue here is there's no exact test case. As a result, all variants seem to use slightly different timing curves. Maybe that's irrelevant, but it's at least annoying to look at. (Not to say I don't appreciate this pa

While you're here, I should say: first, thanks for your work, and second, it would be nice if the compiler could log the timing data in a consolidated form so my script wouldn't be necessary. :-) Regex-parsing and aggregating a bu

I recently wrote a tool to report Swift block compile times, since this kind of thing can be unpredictable. At Hipmunk we run it every night to find out how we can make our builds faster. Another common culprit of slow compile times is usag

In case anyone's curious, what happened was that Dave (@davidmarin) and I (@irskep), the mrjob maintainers, left Yelp within about a month of each other. (There's no story there, just coincidence.) There was never any momentum wit

I'd guess there was some kind of missing API. I've done a lot of work on the API over the past six months, so you might find it to be a lot better these days.

I love the spirit of this, and I've been waiting for someone to make it for years, if I didn't get to it first! If anyone wants to make a similar web app, I maintain an open source library whose sole purpose is putting JavaScript

You'll see a pull request from me soon. I'd much rather contribute than write my own from scratch, as I had planned to do before I saw this. Edit: to elaborate, the layouts are generally fine, you just need fatter sliders and more

People keep reimplementing the same thing to the same "80%" completion level so they look good to employers, but the software is abandoned quickly once it has served its purpose as a personal branding tool.
