Visited Tokyo last week. At least 95% of the people were wearing masks. Probably closer to 99%.

Not necessarily. You can insert a new row with a field named ‘deleted’ or similar set to ‘true’. This is how you would implement soft deletes in an append-only table.

Yes, and the expected value is positive. Unfortunately for us, the banks that underwrite the IPO choose who to allocate the shares to, and they would prefer to allocate them to clients that have a history of not dumping the stock and/

As an avid user and supporter of Flow I'm pretty sure this is a step in the wrong direction. The effort it takes to launch another offer in this already competitive market distracts them from some much needed updates to justify their price

I'll echo "refusing to quit" being a key driver of success. I also won't claim to know all the tricks, but it seems like pg's standing assertion that founders' determination is the highest correlating factor to success is true, at least in

The American Express gift card doesn't get you a discount and (as you pointed out) skims some credit card fees from the top.

Agreed. There are advantages to an HTML5 PDF reader. Aside from just being more accessible, I could see how sharing and collaboration tools become more effective with an in-browser solution.

PDF viewing isn't natively supported by any browser as far as I'm aware-- plugins/extensions are required, which makes the content significantly less accessible.

Perhaps... although there may be little or no correlation between where one chooses to go to school and how good of an engineer they'll be.

Yup, not a talent acquisition. Matt and I have both moved on to other things. I'm working on a retail initiative at http://www.propersuit.com if anyone's interested.

I'm not sure I agree that an API is that different from a UI. Try working with the Windows API in C#. Lack of default parameters means that for every API call I have to explicitly set about 30 options (29 of which I'm usually not using).
