Wow. This is so true. My social life has improved hugely in the last couple of years and it's almost all because of this. I host board game days. I organise a pub trivia team. I organise singalong nights. I host occasional parties. Sou

Yeah in Australia I remember seeing a lot of small electronic items on eBay that were $1 shipped from Hong Kong or China. You literally could not post a letter within Australia for that price.

Yeah, "arbitrage" is not the right term here. This is just a complicated way to get a lower quality version of a service (sending a letter by mail) at a lower price.

There are some of us going to great lengths to reduce the amount of plastic we consume, the crap we buy and then throw out, distances travelled on our behalf. And then there are these people. Sending a pregnancy test to their grandma. What

Around here (Melbourne) the other place is in pubs - there are organised poker tournaments. They can't legally charge you an entry fee, but they can give you a lot of extra chips if you buy a meal at the pub. Some modest prizes if you

To me the current design doesn't look like anything at all. I don't see a gate or a wall, just two rectangles.

This article seems based in a poorly defined statement. What does "joining the workforce" actually mean? There are plenty of jobs that have already been pretty much replaced by AI: certain forms of journalism, low-end photoshop wo

We just bought a new fridge yesterday. We lugged our old one around between 5 different properties - 20 years old, still going strong. The big problem is that fridges are not a standard size, and hence the spaces in kitchens are not a stand
