What voltage is your laptop battery? Your smartphone battery? Your Anker power bank battery? What voltage are they outputting over USB-C PD? The Volts and Amp-hours (not amp/hours) metrics make sense when comparing raw battery cells, b

If I buy a USB-C PD power bank with 10,000mAh capacity, per the USB spec it can output power at 5V, 9V, 15V, or 20V, depending on which device is plugged in. Which voltage is the 10,000mAh capacity in reference to? Most likely it's act

You can have a battery cell that is 3v, 100mAh. And another cell that is 6v, 100mAh. The second cell has double the energy storage as the first cell. Really mAh is only useful when comparing cells of the same voltage. It became a common met

I imagine this will still start as pretty limited and improve over time. Voice is not that bandwidth intensive but is latency sensitive. "Data" covers a wide range that probably won't include streaming 4K YouTube at first.

The website says text messages in 2024, voice and data starting in 2025, and IoT in 2026. So it seems they have had the same thought on the usefulness for remote telemetry data. I don't know a lot about LTE signals but given the distan

The major caveat is extremely limited bandwidth. They are basically putting an LTE cell tower on the satellites. This can be used for very low-bandwidth applications, starting with just text messages. They are not providing 100MB+ broadband

I’m not sure being Vietnam in this scenario is particularly desirable. Not being completely defeated during a bloody invasion isn’t the same as never being invaded.
