Right, but are those going to run on Apple-owned hardware at all? It seems like Apple will first prioritize their models running on-device, then their models running on Apple Silicon servers, and then bail out to ChatGPT API calls specifica

If your goal was wanting to use AI image generation to create such an image, this makes sense. I think people are just questioning the assumption that such a feature is a desirable or necessary feature of a weather display. I definitely was

Nice, I hadn't heard of that but yeah I think that's a much better system than employer group plans. If more of the market went that way, insurers would have to actually compete at a consumer level and not just offer "go away

If you're in the EU that should be possible, although the software is still limited to using Apple's public approved APIs since Apple still has a security notarization process software can be installed from third-party sources.

As far as I know Musk and Tesla's position on this hasn't changed. They use Lidar for validation during R&D, they don't ship it on production vehicles.

They produced 1.85 million vehicles in 2023. So a $2 million order would work out to $1.08 per car. Or if Lidar hardware for one car cost about $500, then $2 million is not quite enough for one day's worth of manufacturing output.
