I bought a HL-3170CDW years ago and I've had the same experience. Bought a couple new black toner carts, and maybe one set of color ones, all OEM. Affordable supplies compared to my previous Samsung color laser (toner got outrageousl

HIPAA contains a security and privacy rule, but its original aim was to spur patient record portability between providers and insurers. That lineage of regulation, which also includes HITECH, ARRA, and provisions tied to Medicare expansion

Copyrights are not patents, and your link asserts that the Robertson screw design is patented, not copyrighted. The Google vs. Oracle case is about copyrights.

Frankfort, one of the affected cities featured in the article, is the capital city of Kentucky. Do you think the best solution to this problem is to move the capital city somewhere else? Because of warehouse emissions?

I think it's unlikely that Spanish speakers would have been confused about the word "nova" when used as a car name. In Spanish "nova" describes the same astronomical event we call a "nova" in English: a n

I had been using Debian for 6 years when the first Ubuntu came out, and never had any trouble configuring anything. I was getting tired of waiting what seemed like forever for new stable Debian releases, so I gave Ubuntu a shot on the desk

You said you had so much information that you could write a little book. Is your book going to consist entirely of questions that appeal to thoughts of conspiracy and shadowy action by oppressing forces? Or will you simply state your opin

You asked a lot of questions that seem to imply a lot of conspiracy-driven actions, but you didn't really state any definite opinions or present any evidence that supports those implications. If you're going to "write a litt

All URLs are URIs (as other people have noted), but the distinction is less important as time goes on. I think W3C's "URIs, URLs, and URNs: Clarifications and Recommendations 1.0"[0] does a good job explaining the reasons wh

I understand that, but why is a 23-year old ship considered old? USS Nimitz is nearing 50 years old. Wikipedia [1] lists a bunch of ships built in the 70s and 80s. USS Bonhomme Richard appears to be newer than half the ships there. [1]

Multiple news sources have called the ship "old" at 23 years, and more succeptable to fires because of its age. I mean, we knew about fire back in 1995 when the thing was designed (I was alive back then, and I knew about fire). I

The law says you have to get a license from the FCC to operate your radio, and getting the license requires sending them your name and addresses. It's that simple.

At 5'9" and 171 lb, the old 1970s dummy has a BMI of 25.2 and is already "overweight" (probably because of the heavy steel they have to build it around). My main takeaway from Dan's article is that we have a lot of

That may be the case. I rarely go inside my local mall (Southpoint, Durham NC), but on sunny weekends the Apple store was often jam-packed with people. So busy that customers had a hard time getting through the door. Sales people talking

I don't need VNC or RDP, so I don't know. I know that sharing other windows or my whole desktop in Google Hangouts doesn't work, but I rarely need that. I figure I'll log back in with an X session if I need that.

I use Wayland with GNOME all day every day and it works fine. There are still minor issues versus legacy X, but it's certainly more than a "tech-demo".
