Well the 99-problems were originally in Prolog, and many have to do with list manipulation, something that Haskell has built in. Additionally, Haskell will benefit from its lazy, functional nature, which makes dynamic programming, searching

On your first point: people have known about this for a long time. Rum, for instance, is mostly produced in warmer climates, and the aging process is 2x to 5x faster. A 3 year rum tastes like a 10 year whiskey. And indeed, Buffalo Trace age

One of the exercises in chapter 1 of SICP is writing a Fibonacci function using successive squaring[1]. It's fast, not recursive, and doesn't rely on floating point arithmetic. It would be interesting to see the author's resu

Bash + coreutils is powerful. Putting that on windows is a very good thing. The "performance increase" is irrelevant compared to the ease of use, available documentation (man pages), interoperability, and maturity.

All that said, it is still worthwhile to work through all of SICP, if you want a deeper understanding of how certain tools work. Writing your own interpreter is a very rewarding experience.
