I'm not an expert, but I don't think realistically we're anywhere close to the limits of what they can do. Our "edge" is CF right now, but that's likely to change (coincidentally to bunny) because our traffic

We use HAProxy at the load balancers, and HAProxy/Varnish/Apache on the individual app server VMs. This separates concerns completely: - HAProxy knows about and manages the TLS, balancing, client routing etc; - Varnish knows about

There are people on HN (or probably other sites, maybe Reddit?) who will invite "strangers", but typically we want to have some idea what the person is like, as an invite creates a permanent link (on the site) between the inviter

I find Lobste.rs generally has more nuanced discussion about tech (and only tech, non tech stories are removed) and fewer hot takes, but it's also a heck of a lot "quieter" (i.e. much less volume of both stories and comment

These people created Wordpress and continue to base their business around it. Realising something is a bad idea technically isn't really in their bag of tricks.

I haven't used HOTP, but my (very basic) understanding is that it works by having both sides (the service and the OTP generator) increment a count. If you have two OTP generators configured, you'd have to "request" a new

The first T in TOTP stands for “Time”. If a site used HOTP for their 2FA OTP, it wouldn’t work afaik as it’s counter based.
