It seems like you have to wait some seconds for the server to process the comment, if you refresh it should let you comment again. Anyway, looking forward to the data release, through a blog post I suppose?

Is there some data available on which factor the perfomance benefitted from this change (like some benchmark results)?

Would this mean you are getting rid of engine.io as the base, or is this just meant to be a general addition?

:D I am actually trying to do something similar with the js client. I recently tried to convert it to Dart using jsparser, since i am working with http://flutter.io , a hybrid app development project from Google. It worked out ju

Nice, really appreciate the progress here! However, is there any reason the artifacts aren't on github? It may be more convenient when it comes to issues/changelogs etc.

Although I generally disagree with the parent comment, I have to say that AWS actually IS overpriced. Just look at Cloud plattforms like OVH.com or even digitalocean.com, they charge almost nothing for the traffic, whereas it comes at a who

I think the most obvious comparison is Firebase, but as a self-hosted solution deepstream is much cheaper (5-10x, dependant on the usecase). The creators of deepstream.io have actually written a blog post that covers this exact topic: http

What always strikes me is the amount of free traffic Hetzner includes in their plans, always 20TB and upwards. AWS charges a whooping 90$ per TB, it keeps me wondering why their traffic is SO much more expensive than Hetzner's...

Same here. However ello stayed competetive in the niche of a social network for artist and creators, which is probably fine for the people behind it.

True, maybe https://github.com/firebase could help with some reverse engineering. However, I discovered the Firebase document and the deepstream.io record structure to be fairly similar, so with the help of https:/&#x

If you ate not willing/able to pay for managed cloud services like Firebase, there are some really cool self-hosted alternatives out there (like deepstream.io and horizon.io). Open-sourcing software should always be a can, not a must.

I know everybody would love to see this, but for me it's a bit much to ask from Google to open-source Firebase since they invested quite a lot of time and money into it to get to the current version. Apart from that, I can definetly re

Probably not, scince Signal doesn't really support secure web communication (without phone routing).

I wonder how they encrypted their chat on the web client. Scince the Signal protocol is kind of the gold standard right now, probably their solution might in the end be the better one.

I may be naive, but Firebase may be the perfect fit for this kind of task scince it scales pretty good. Niantec would probably get massive discounts as well as an Ex-google company...

How was your overall experience for the swich to self-hosted ads in terms of time and money you had to invest given that the main sellingpoint for Adsense is its ease of use?

True, but if you are looking for offline adaptions of your webapp there is a really cool technology called service worker that works as an offline cache for your whole app.

Well, only partly true. Because all paper/iron elements are adapting seamlessly on mobile, there is no real need for a mobile framework.
