It's like you didn't even think through your example at all. If minimum wage is suddenly $50/hr, businesses begin to collapse. The Fed, seeing this collapse, would massively inflate the dollar. Anyone with savings would have

The pedigree required to work at Starbucks goes up, indeed. Half of my friends with degrees do not have jobs in their respective fields. Easy federal loans got them into an upside down situation from which they may never recover. I got paid

When I was a kid, Windows ME would hang on startup unless I kept moving the mouse. My friend's dad, a Math/CS teacher, did not believe me until I showed him.

iMessages is completely broken for me across devices. Group chats just miss messages entirely on my mac. I need my phone around to use iMessage on my mac, in case I get a message that doesn't make it to the mac somehow somehow.

Smaller companies would fold, larger companies would pay more in the short term, and become much more capital efficient in the long-term. When the minimum wage increases, the ROI of replacing people with machines changes, and yields higher

All of the website's sample images show a man running up stairs and traffic in shoes that would destroy your foot if you attempted to seriously run in them. This feels a lot like bringing a burrito to your keyboard. You're not doi

SSDs have the exception that they make me more effective at building product, which pays for the investment. I can't say the same for a pair of pants.

This is only useful in wide-net fishing attacks, most of which I'm guessing no one here would fall for. Anyone interested in you particularly will quickly get your phone number, email address, facebook profile, social security number,

StackOverflow seems to have devolved into a bunch of shit questions. Anything too technical doesn't get answered, since the real veterans have left, and anything not technical enough (like an approach to a problem) gets closed. I loved

Capitalism does not exist "for the benefit of the consumer" no more so than apples exist for the benefit of human consumption. Free markets need not have capitalism, and vice versa, but capitalism will likely arise in any free mar

I've literally handled hundreds of second-hand iPads (I traded them for a while), and none of the lightning cables had issues. I'd venture to guess there's something wrong in your house rather than the with the cables. I'

The U.S countryside is strewn with men and women fitting this description. I bet it would be even more true if foreign soldiers were occupying america and routinely bombing its citizens.

The question is not whether the US military is murdering on a consistent, timely basis. It's a question of why the murdering is happening in the first place. I have no power to change any aspect of the US military, but that doesn'

I no longer believe in A/B/C players. It's an excuse, as many have mentioned, of poorly managing a dysfunctional team. Are there people at companies that shouldn't have been hired, or should be fired? Sure, but that does

Stop thinking about programming and start thinking about products. Perhaps there's another company in your area, or remote, that's solving a problem or providing a service you'd like to help build. I don't give a rat

I don't know anyone who lives in the city. Anyone with a family lives in the burbs off the train line, with house and rent prices increasing geometrically as you approach distance to the train stops.

Chicago is a 40 minute train ride preceded and followed by 15 minutes of getting to and from the train. If I had to design hell, it would look something like 2 and a half hours commuting each day.
