Super glad. We’ve been users for a few years. In fact, Go’s iOS CI has been running on Corellium devices for a few years. Self hosted too, no less!

JB Kempf (of VLC) has been CTO for a few months. He has submitted an offer to buy back the company with Xavier Niel (telco billionaire). Their tech is incredible, by far the best performing IMHO.

I feel for her struggle, but this is disinformation. She starts with the false claim that the Chernobyl disaster "killed hundreds of thousands of people". UNSCEAR (the IPCC of radiation) puts the death toll at 50 people, + 6000 th

I wrote one post about questions I had regarding Bitcoin a few years ago. [1] So far they haven't really been answered. 1. https://medium.com/@steeve/questions-for-the-bitcoin-communi...

Because it highlights the failure of the solar/wind (intermittent renewables) argument. Can you point me to a grid that runs mainly on solar and wind that’s les than 150gCO2eq/kWh? France is around 50-60.

Yes, it’s called CIGEO. For the record, the whole of France’s nuclear fuel waste since the 50’s is a 15mx15mx15m cube. Also, that 40 years numbers is a financial one, not a technical or design one. Some reactors based on the same designs ha

The whole nuclear cycle from extraction to building the plant to dismantling it is, according to IPCC, 12gCO2eq/kWh. Solar is 55.

This. As cool as PV is, there is a big difference between always-on, modular power source and one that has a variable and intermittent production. It would be like saying one doesn't need heating in the winter since heat is cheap in th

Serious question: Bitcoin being subject to deflation, why would you spend it? Sort of like the $82 million pizzas [1] 1. https://qz.com/1285209/bitcoin-pizza-day-2018-eight-years-ag...

Better exploiting hardware (via seastar and the one-thread-per-core model, see ScyllaDB vs Cassandra also) and probably better architecture.

Redpanda is built on top of Seastar, as is ScyllaDB, so the reasons might be closely related: https://www.scylladb.com/2016/02/09/qualifying-filesystems/

It is also possible to build docker images with Bazel and rules_docker [1], which doesn't require docker itself, and can run unprivileged. That said, it is not compatible with Dockerfile (obviously) but you can do some cool things such

Those numbers are from electricityMap for South Australia: 201g right now, and 502g 15 hours ago. During the demand peak, it was 301g. Speaks for itself. About the money pit, Germany spent 500 billion euros on wind and solar. And what does
