Well, they are tools, aren't they? They aren't inherently good or bad, what people are doubtful of who will get to reap the benefits of the tools. For the past few decades, slowly but surely, the recipients of the benefits of te

We deployed OpenWebUI with the Claude API the other day for employees. Someone sent ten messages (which appeared to just be reasonable day-to-day work), and we paid $200 for it. There were 44M input tokens, 100k output tokens, no cache hits

That's odd, even the Wikipedia entry (from Star Wars) begins with "is a derogatory term": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clanker That's where it originates, and (I assume) it was chosen precisely bec

> Division very much is the point because they are not humans. I'm not so worried about dividing humans and LLMs as dividing humans from each other. Sure, LLMs are not humans, and that's a valid distinction, but the word "

The arguments in this post don't really resonate with me, each for different reasons: > Why Not Agent? I agree, "agent" gives them agency. "Clanker" just sounds like "trashheap" to me, though, a clearly

I've found I'm the opposite: I know it's pointless to swear at an LLM, so I don't, just because it's wasted energy. However, I've started thinking that some people are like that as well: They won't learn,

Not European, but Zoho Zeptomail is cheap as hell and very good. I can definitely recommend it.

What? Why do people do this? Let me sign in with my damn email address, like a normal person. Why do you have to assume I have a Google account?

"Stuff". What does it matter? I'm saying that the ceiling doesn't have to be "covers your basic needs". The fact that I haven't presented a full plan doesn't mean my point is invalid.

Switzerland pays you your previous salary for two years if you're laid off. "Covers your basic needs" isn't a ceiling for a social safety net.

It doesn't matter how well it conducts the heat, since you measure the amount the energy you apply to it (after losses).

The solution to the lack of jobs should be a strong social safety net, but Americans don't want this because socialism, so what can you do? You can't really halt progress, and taxing the rich (or corporations) is very unpalatable

I don't think anyone actually has an issue with AI. I think people are finally fed up with late-stage capitalism and lashing out.

Makes sense, I don't know why some people are OK with slurs in general, as long as it's against their favourite outgroup. Let's just all mature enough to realise that slurs are universally unacceptable.

Same for me, and I'm Greek. It just sounds like it's intended to offend (even though I know you can't offend machines (yet?)), and it just gives me a negative feeling.

They specifically said "one degree Fahrenheit", so the GP's question was "why does going from 30 F to 31 F take a different amount of energy than going from 20 F to 21 F?".

I have the same trackball, and did end up having to change the switches after a year. They need changing again, I should stock up on them in the hopes of having something that works for a while.

The argument (maybe in a sibling comment) was that, if the US switched to a 4-day workweek, companies would simply offshore their work to poorer countries who work 5 days, so my question is, then why isn't the current workweek 7 days?

Here are my stats (from DeepSeek directly, with a script I wrote). The prices are what equivalent Sonnet usage would have cost, the actual amount I paid was $10. On performance, DeepSeek V4 Pro is comparable to Sonnet for me. ./

But, if there exist poorer countries, why is there a five-day work week instead of a seven-day one? Why aren't we all just working 24/7?

Adb backup exists, though I haven't tried it, and Google cloud backup does this. However, if you trust Google, you probably already trust the US. Unfortunately, I don't know of any other app that does this on an unrooted phone.
