Wow, how did we go from "it's impossible to enforce region locking online because you can transmit information instantly across the world" to "locality more easily enforced in the digital world"?

Yeah, it's really tiring reading Claude's output all day, every day. Nowadays I yearn for a different style.

I mean maybe the exploits they found weren't good enough to allow them to do whatever they want with the phone.

There's a decision to be made whether corporations should be allowed to do anything they want or not. The countries that choose to let them do what they want, will obviously give them an advantage over the countries that don't. Yo

Kouloglou is a famous investigative journalist, not you and me. Yes you and I might think we're being scammed, but someone who actually spent a lot of their life getting death threats probably would pay more attention.

It's possible, if the attacker controls the device enough. I don't think a big "you're being targeted" warning is something you don't notice, or forget.

Why would they get a fine for complying? You can install alternative app stores on iPhone perfectly well.

Yes but saying "it would have justified the price if they had included extra expensive things" is the same as saying "it should be cheaper". Sure, but stuff costs.

Must be frustrating for the radio host to have to wait mid-sentence for you to unmute.

Ah yes, the play button, and also clearly the reverse play button on the opposite side, which presumably makes the audio play in reverse. I have the same car, those are the previous/next buttons.

Well, either I'm very dumb and didn't think to press play on the car I own to solve the problem I've had for years, or you're missing the fact that there is no play button on BYD cars. I wonder which it is.

Even on the holder, you'd use Bluetooth, and those buttons work. With Android Auto/CarPlay you can also use a joystick, if your car has one.
