Ah, I didn't know this! I guess the files aren't technically looked down, but that's technically DRM. I don't have a problem with it, but I wish they let users know the first time they download something off of iTunes or something. You thin

Other then the fact that he says iTunes music is DRM'd (I don't think it is any more), I'd say this is a pretty fair review of the Android ecosystem. Edit: This is completely irrelevant, but Chad Fowler looks way different with shorter hair

Thanks for the clarification, I should have been a little more specific. I meant to say that I wish there was a way to get a listing of all my public posts without having to log in. Kind of like going to someone's Twitter profile if you are

That's true. If anything, although the Droid might not get an official 3.0 release I'm sure someone will release an unofficial rom or something.

Uh oh, I hope they lower that memory requirement a little bit. Isn't the Motorola Droid the number one selling Android phone? Looks like it's not going to make the cut.

Not necessarily related to this article, but doesn't Finland also require every citizen to enlist in their military for a few years? I remember reading about it in some Linus Torvalds interview, seems like an interesting policy.

The Market itself is open to lots of countries, but many of these countries don't have support for paid apps yet (only free) which is very frustrating.

I love Android and use a Droid as my phone but I totally agree with you, theu really need to step up with their UI. It seems that they know this. They hired the lead designer for WebOS a while back and according to TechCrunch the next relea

The author's website is incredibly clever: http://cb.vu/ It's a fake terminal but it's surprisingly fully functional (lots of commands work, tab autocompletion, etc.)

There's no way a typical end user is going to know how to deploy an open-source Ruby on Rails application. Although I really dislike PHP, I feel like it would be more appropriate because at least some technology enthusiasts are comfortable

FWIW, I have an unofficial third-party Instapaper client for Android on the Android Market, still needs a bit of polish though, nowhere near the user experience of the iPhone client.

I'm guessing application developers could pick because many of them are paranoid with piracy. Since Android is much more open than Android once you have an application file you can easily share it.
