I think people stop caring, because it is impossible to keep up a high level of vigilance for an extended period of time. Plus the risk becomes normalized. People are not very good at evaluating risk. From an evolutionary perspective, we

That may have been a sensationalized media story. I think that regularly happens in normal times as well, due to lack of services.

Perhaps I am mistaken, but most of the supply chain issues seem to have been caused by the reopening more than the pandemic. The economy cannot be shutdown and re-opened on a dime. I think it was a big mistake to think it could be.

Interesting idea. Something needs to be done, because right now, the US can't even construct a nuclear power plant in Georgia on time and within reasonable budget range.

Not to mention the existing debt problem. Just the interest alone on the debt is beginning to exceed the amount spent on the military alone. Something needs to be done, and sooner or later, the usual throwing more money at the problem is

Generally, the updates are minor textual modifications that are done to remove confusion. Not to protect the audience from being offended. Very different. Renaming "pussing galore" to something less offending of modern sensibil

That might be true if it were just about being more polite. But this is about control by establishing an approved vocabulary. Why else the need to rewrite past literature? It is a very condescending attitude to think you can protect peo

Even if the revisions are fairly innocuous in themselves, it is still altering history in a way that impedes future generations from an honest legitimate view of history. Imagine a world with a filtered awareness for history. It is a clos

It would be unfair to evaluate twitter according to current features. It is now being actively developed, looking for new features to give it more value. The pre-elon twitter stagnated on a static set of features. For instance, they rece

It would seem this would be the perfect kind of class for online learning. Perhaps even as a wiki to crowd source helpful contributions. Most learning doesn't even have to be directed, but just point students in the right direction.

Seems like having revulsion for all earthly things can backfire in unpredictable ways. I have a suspicion that the early Buddhist may have been onto something, but something vital was lost a long time ago.

Never understood the need for meditation retreats. The only purpose of gathering would be to meet and converse with other people. Not to sit and listen to them breathe.
