How does that square with a dozen people driving FSD and posting it on YouTube weekly. Quite successfully too. Here is one example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3DCiSFakmI

This is really dumb. Media played up robots in the 80s and people were similarly scared of them. There was even an SNL skit for Robot attack insurance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4Gh_IcK8UM It's only $4 a mont

That is one downside. Since I only print once in a while, I just turn it on when I need to print something.

I took a super old printer from work when they didn't need it anymore. This was years ago. HP LaserJet 1320. It's been working perfectly. Needs cartridge replacement very rarely. And works like a champ. That is what I recommen

Love the feature and use it all the time. It would be great, if you could assign a home page to a container.

I am not in the Valley, but I am in a large US metro. So yes, good point. But the context of this article is a person getting let go from Google, not from a job digging ditches. From that point of view, yes, I think there is definitely priv

Well said. I've been laid off a couple of times in the last 5 years. It sucked when I was notified of it. But thinking back, all of us here on HN are incredibly privileged. We get laid off with months of severance and basically get

I agree with you to a point. It depends on what you are trying to search. For example, search for Top 10 things to do in {popular place}. You will likely get a bunch of hits that are highly SEOed and your senses will be assaulted as you

Given this line of thought, why doesn't Firefox put every single icon from the menu on the toolbar. Since there is so much space. My argument is that since those buttons are rarely used, they should be unobtrusive. Looking at my too

> Buttons are small... I don't understand this criticism. How often do you actually have to use those buttons? At best, once in a long while. So given that, why not make the buttons unobtrusive.

> Assange clearly was selective about release of information So did the rest of the American media, starting with the Biden laptop fiasco. I don't see anyone from news orgs being under arrest and not charged for the past 10 years.

Does this mean that big bang either didn't happen or happened in a different way that we think of it? Or happened far earlier than we think it did? Complete layman here.

That's exactly it. It was confusing to me as well, still is. Netware basically provided networking and login services - something that Windows NT basically threw in as a "feature" on top of it being a general purpose OS. Ne

About a decade ago or more, I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to build a rig to mine bitcoin. Should have bought a $1000 worth and then just post this from my Caribbean island.

Car is not something someone buys on a lark. It's a once a decade purchase at best. And you can get an EV from any manufacturer these days, so I'd still consider double digit growth pretty incredible. Azure had 33% growth a coupl
