Yes, it is PR. While individuals can be altruistic visionaries, shareholders will protest any action that is not in the company's interest. For a smaller player, open-sourcing might be a strategic move. It would likely go unnoticed if

There are many useful tricks - like cosine distance. In contrast, softmax has a very deep grounding in statistical physics - where it is called the Boltzmann distribution. In fact, this connection between statistical physics and machine lea

Yes, you are right. If we ask LLM to grade something, we must create a prompt with good instructions. Otherwise, we will have no idea what 0.5 means or whether it is given consistently. (A rule of thumb: Is it likely that various people, no

While I like the idea of measuring subsequent steps, this kind of approach of using embeddings is the reason why I wrote: "Don't use cosine distance carelessly" ( https://p.migdal.pl/blog/2025/01/

I bet this person has never created a data visualization. On the contrary, I think data visualization (along with architecture, mathematics, and mechanical watches) is one of the most interesting art forms that requires strict constraints.

Do you know any nice copilots working in the terminal? "remembering exact commands" (vide https://xkcd.com/1168/ ) and "getting context for a given instruction" are precisely things at which LLMs exc

A few nitpicks: First, I am not sure whom you refer to - as (I hope) everyone who uses cosine similarity has seen a . b = |a||b| cos theta. I read its very name, "cosine (of the angle between vectors) used as a similarity measure"
