I think you're thinking of a different argument. I never said it doesn't provide consistent UX. It's just that when I hear a "simple markdown editor", I don't envision an app with a bundled web browser. I'

Can anything running on Electron be classified as simple? Just saying. (yes, I am that guy in this case) I like the idea behind it though.

I think the main point of the story should be the famine rather than the supposed cases of cannibalism. I don't think it's that unheard of for people to resort to eating human flesh (usually already dead) when starving. And we

A few years ago I had a case where I had told the company what salary I'm expecting. Then I had two in-person interviews and one phone conversation with an additional department in the company that I would be working with. After that

The marketing material suggests that weather and runway conditions are taken into account when selecting a landing site. So I would assume the answer to all of those is that it won't pick that runway. And if the aircraft is low on fuel

This is only for emergencies, similar to the parachute system on Cirrus aircraft. I'm sure sooner or later someone somewhere would be very glad to have this.

You are lucky. My wife's 65t's left earbud is dead after very light usage for a little over a year (right after the warranty expired, basically). I don't think she's used them more than maybe twice a week on average. S

I wonder if Google execs are regretting the original "don't be evil" slogan yet.

I was just looking for garmin's basecamp a couple of weeks ago and caught myself mid-type, realizing that simply searching for "basecamp" will find the IT company. My brain did a pre-google.

I take it to mean he think there's an issue with the sim, not the real aircraft. There's absolutely no information in what manner MCAS was misbehaving. It's very possible this is being completely blown out of proportion.

Its main purpose is probably video editing for social media videos. I doubt anyone would use it for their actual time-consuming, resource-heavy work. Just guessing here. I haven't used the service nor do I have any use for it.

Not to say that it's okay to detain people with an infant in reportedly (and believably) poor conditions this long but the whole story is very strange. They took a different road to avoid an animal? Was there a grizzly attacking their

My initial reaction is to agree with this parent's policy because I don't really like smartphones. The problem is you just kind of need them even if you're not a big social media user. As a grown up, I've considered givi

Not impossible but highly unlikely probably means impossible, practically speaking. Unfortunately this falls into the "too good to be true" category. A very unscientific categorization but surprisingly accurate in real life. To me

I had a similar experience though a lot more recently. My SO had to almost drag me through the altar - I didn't care much either way but didn't want to jump through the various hoops (especially the financial ones) to get it done.

Comparing macOS and FreeBSD (for practical reasons) is a bit of a stretch (despite sharing the Unix base). I assume that's what the downvotes are for. Isn't one of macOS's main selling features its sleek UX? If you're al

The release notes state that the next release (68.1) will be an update from previous versions. 68.0 stands on its own. Kind of an interesting way to do it but I suppose it lets the most eager folks dip their toes. Sounds like you're be
