It's a biological reality that's gotten lost in our modern world. It's kind of funny no one seems to blink an eye that women and children are allowed to leave Ukraine but men have to stay and fight. The idpol segments seem to

I mean... it is highly likely such events happened at much larger scale than the US public was made aware of in Iraq. How "precise" was shock and awe? I doubt the incentives are aligned for anyone to know. Even Obama had several i

You want a certain portion of capital going to waste... if it doesn't you're not taking big enough risks. A well functioning system will have failures.

How is it better than using a proxy server to access Google?

I think you're grossly underestimating how large of a hole this really is. The author spends entire sections on things that are completely unimportant (e.g DNA error correction)... while leaving most of epigenetics and regulatory genom

I think looking at DNA as "source code" that either gets "compiled" into proteins or "commented out" really betrays the way DNA actually works... making it a poor analogy. DNA inside of cells has a 3 dimensiona

I think there is room in the market for an Elon Musk style entrepreneur to completely re-define the industry as was done by Space-X. I think defense filters out a lot of potential founders due to it's inherently bloody nature -- at the

Berlin is not that far from the port of Antwerp, one of the biggest shipping centers in the EU (and world) -- apparently you can get tons of cheap cocaine there that is really high quality.

by stanfordkid 6y ago
Haha no one blows through $400k of cocaine in a month and survives. It's only $100 a bag (gram)! That would be 13 bags a day of coke.

I wonder at what stage notions of metabolism will be baked directly into neural network operations -- e.g optimize not just for reducing some notion of error on a dataset, but also for the training efficiency itself.

Haha take your tinfoil hat off? No one is stating this is some sort of CIA operation. But the idea that all this stuff just sits collecting dust overlooked in a datacenter forever is naïve. Data is gold, and it's traded and monetized a
