I find it very interesting too, like you said, that every effect or technique boils down to delay lines. It's similar as to how every sound boils down to a combination of sine waves and if you think about it, delays and everything peri

A finite size universe that this describes also increases the odds of it being a simulation. Because then it should be possible to program a complete universe, at a smaller scale of course. Also I could be very wrong because I hardly unders

There's nothing wrong with JS, the language, IMO. Quite the opposite, while JS has matured, the tools haven't. Backwards compatibility causes more friction and issues than those it solves. I'm suggesting we design solutions t

>That isn't quite true. Ears have no problem hearing up/down and front/back information. >Conventional stereo doesn't include those details. Alternative systems like Ambisonics do. Ears don't hear up/down

Not a very constructive comment but his work is extraordinary. Amazing flow, very emotional and made me feel like a child watching that Duet video. It's just beautiful.

We have two ears, so most of the psychoacoustic effects we experience in real life are achieved by just stereo recordings. Stereo listening also mimics the effect of standing in front of the stage at a live performance. You don't have

That's what I mean by using patterns and shapes conventionally. By using the tilde only on indexOfs (math aside), it immediately communicates its reason and when you don't see it and instead see equality operators you know that it

I stopped reading at the tilde argument for readability. I find the tilde token far more readable and easier to spot, and there's no confusion as to what the indexOf is checking for, the existence of an element in an array, where with

I used to do that too! On a Spectrum, I had to type in the program, but I didn't even know how to read, so I just matched the symbols on paper with the symbols on the keyboard and tried to get the same output on the TV. Can't reme

There's more to digital audio processing than code? I don't get it. Once the collaborative module system is in place (see milestone I) it'll allow for more complex stuff, as you'd be joining components and moving upwards

That's about what I have in mind, picking the bits and pieces you need to create your custom audio workstations in a modular and hackable manner.

I'd love to! You guys have some amazing things going on there. I have some live performance features planned for wavepot, so yeah, not quite there yet! But keep an eye on it I'm sure you'll enjoy what I have in mind.

Thanks! I have background in Music Technology but I'm just starting with DSP myself. Most of the stuff I use are ported from code I found online so I can't really take credit for those though. A modular piece of software like this

In my head, a DAW is exactly what it says. A workstation for digital audio. That said, this has the potential to evolve to something more similar to existing professional DAWs and maybe even surpass them. I'm glad you like it. The soun
